most institutes in india offering the course admit students based on their performance in a relevant entrance test, conducted at any of state , national, institutinal levels, followed by  subsequent counseling process.

as a part of the process of counselling , students are required to clear two additional rounds of group discussion and personal interview, wherein their general aptitude for the course is examine . a merit list is subsequently released by the institute , allocating seats to qualifying candidates.

some institutes also admit students based on the candidate's obtained merit at te 10+2 level , whle some conduct their own entrance tests for offering admission . admission process generallyvaries across colleges

You need to have eligibility criteria of subjects i.e. at 10+2 you need to have mandatorily Physics, Chemistry  and any one of the subjects from computer science ,electronics, statistics, psychology. Each institution conducts it's own entrance examination thereafter like AYIJIIH, Manipal etc.
