CRL(AIR)- This is the rank which you have secured in JEE-mains under general category. All people who are general are given CRL rank and your CRL rank is the rank among all general students(excluding other category people). CRL ranks are given to only general people by which the seats are filled alias “ AIR” rank. AIR ranks or CRL ranks are given to general people. Both are same for general students whether you call it AIR or CRL or general rank all three have same meanings(General is not a category).

Reserved ranks- This reserved ranks are given to reserved category people and the seats are filled according their respective ranks in their respective category. They dont have CRL or AIR like general students. The seats are reserved at some % and filled, the people in respective category are filled according to their ranks in their respective category.

ex- Assume there are 100 seats in a particular branch. Seats reserved for OBC category are some X%. Now all the people in OBC category will obtain a OBC rank and X people will get the seats in that branch.
