Clat is conducted every year in the month of May, that is after the completion of your 12th boards. If you want to start your preparation from 12th standard only, it is no doubt a good thing to do but you have a keep in mind that you focus on your 12th boards also and this should be your priority. Now the first you have to do is to start reading newspaper as it will cover the current gk part which can't be covered in a month or 2 , you need to read newspaper daily for this. Newspaper i would recommend should be in English so that your vocabulary will also become strong. This is the basic thing which you have to do on a daily basis. Next you can devote a hour to static gk and your weekends to legal and logical reasoning. Doing this for an entire will be sufficient. After that if you want you can do a crash course in CLAT in which you will be taught the whole syllabus again and this will add up to your preparation as a revision course. Do practice mock test every week as this is very important.
