The colleges which are affiliated to or recognized by any government body or any government university are considered as autonomous colleges but these colleges  follow their own regulations/curriculum/syllabus/examination pattern/grade system for their academic courses instead of following the university's syllabus.

And most of the colleges completes the degrees (UG or PG) in semester pattern, means they conduct exams after completion of every semester (6 months).
