How does Internal branch change round takes place ...I mean is it in Josaa Counseling only or It is done by college offline when you get the college

I hope you could have been more clear. Yet I would provide you information for both.

  • There are two kinds of branch changing. Firstly, when you go for JoSAA counseling, you get the chance to slide and float. If used wisely they can help in branch change.
  • Now secondly, colleges allow around 10% of branch strength to reshuffle after 1st year as a means of branch sliding. This is done entirely by college and has separate criteria. Still, if you are withing 5% of your branch, you can expect your branch can be sliding in any college.

Giving an example of both kinds, One of my friend got Civil NIT Agartala in 4th round, chose slide and for ECE in 7th round. (Branch slide first kind) after first year, he got enough GPA to apply for slide and now is in CSE after 1st year. (Slide of second kind)
