So mainly in generator there are two terms:

Rotor and stator.

So rotor is moving part while stator is not, it is fixed. The rotor is connected with shaft thats helps to generate current.

In generator chemical energy is converted into electrical energy or you can say mechanical energy converted to electrical energy.
