PTE, IELTS, TOEFL are exams meant to test the English proficiency of the students. Which exam to appear for depends on various factors:

• University which you are applying to
• If the university accepts all of them, how soon do you want the results (PTE results are out within 5 days, TOEFL with 10 days, and IELTS on the 13th day after the test) 
• Exam fee. IELTS fee is INR 12,100, TOEFL fee is $180, PTE fee is INR 10,255
• In the speaking part, while you speak to an examiner in IELTS, you speak to a computer in TOEFL and PTE.
• In addition, the comfort of location is also a factor in deciding the type of the test you should take.
