It is a good college - Good campus and environment, student will be mentored and given individual attention. Academics wise they teach to best of their ability. Placements are improving year by year. Civil is a nice option there. you can go for it!

Hope you are doing well. Alva's is popularly known for Pre-University education, but when coming to the engineering it doesn't have that much name. I am just telling the fact to you and not having any intentions to misguide you. Alva's gives admissions to the students even having a higher rank, which proves that it is not a top college in Mangalore, but a good college. I hope you got the point after reading this answer.
