Hi, First of all there is nothing called fire and safety branch in CUSAT. It is called Safety and Fire Engineering , and fact of the matter it that it is basically safety engineering with little bit of fire. This course is really good for people who want to make their career in process safety engineering or technical safety engineering. One has to really work hard in their academic year to get into real field for which this course is meant for. Positions like safety officer or fire officer offered to its graduates is real sham. The graduates of this course are supposed to do better technical jobs than what they are doing now in India. There are cool small engineering companies in Chennai, Pune, Bangalore, NCR where one can get good technical jobs. Initial pay would be less but one would on the path to rise. Really high. Graduates should start to look beyond the campus placement and start applying to companies directly for jobs.
