If you want to join a govt engineering college in Gujarat then I think L.D.C.E is a good option to join, regarding IT branch,  branch is good here the faculty of IT is well qualified, college provides good environment and infrastructure ,regarding placements, the placement scenario changes every year and not much companies visit this college for IT branch.
