After allotment of seats in round 1,round 2 in comedk uget if more seats are vacant in engineering colleges then extended round takes place in order to fill the remaining vacant seats.So in order to fill the vacant seats candidates with higher ranks are given a chance to get a seat in respective engineering colleges.
