The placements for chemical engineering is average in Calcutta University but still it's decent when you compare with the other colleges of West Bengal. Around 70% students get placed but not necessarily in the core sector. Some students get a job with IT industry also. But if you put your efforts and perform well you can definitely get a job from there. The average compensation package being 6-8 lakhs per annum.
