Preparatory courses are for SC/ST students who even though did’nt qualify for advanced but were given a rank because they were close to qualifying marks. Now about the procedure, better go and google it. If you’re not from reserved category then you don’t have a chance.

In preparatory courses the students are taught by IIT professors and they are prepared so that they can crack adv next year and join that IIT for B.tech
