Hello,

The JEE main entrance exam is a National Level entrance exam and it is conducted by National Testing Agency(NTA) from past few years, before that it was conducted by CBSE Board. Now talking about how many exams of JEE main helds in a year than firstly there was two exams were taken by the NTA and the highest score from both the exams was counted as final marks, but from this year only ie, 2021 NTA has started taking 4 JEE main exams in a year and you have a option of attempting all 4 exams or how much you want to attempt and like earlier best of 4 exams marks will be counted, hope so it will be helpful for you.

Thank you..

Hi

Earlier, till 2018 JEE main examination was conducted only once in a year, and then in  2019 and 2020 it got conducted twice  a year but from this year i. e 2021, jee main  is conducted 4 times in a year.

Jee main is conducted in 4 sessions

  • February session

  • March session

  • April session

  • May session

It completely depends upon you when it comes to number of sessions you want to appear in. When you appear in more then one sessions then the best performance out of the attempted sessions will be considered for admission i. e if you appear in all the 4 or 3 or 2 session of Jee mains, then your best score out of these attempts will be considered for your admission process

In case if you are thinking that why jee main is being conducted 4 times in a year then

There are following benefits of conducting 4 sessions of jee mains

  • your 1st attempt will give you 1st time real experience of the examination and you will get to know your weak areas which you can improve in the next session

  • This will reduce the chances of dropping a year as if you are not satisfied with your performance in 1st session, you can impove in other sessions as you get opportunity of attempting of all the 4 sessions

  • If anyone misses the examination due to reasons like illness, Board examination on the same date as that of jee mains , then he or she won't have to wait for one full year.
