The cutoffs vary every year depending upon various factors like number of students appearing for the exam, difficulty of paper set, etc. 

To get admission in any of the NITs (National Institute of Technology) across India a student must score 200+ on 360 in JEE Mains (for general category students) (ESTIMATION). Sometimes it could be more or less. 

To get branch of your choice score as high as you can. Generally every year the cutoff for Computer Science Engineering are highest when compared to other branches. So if a student wants Computer Science Branch then he/she score well.
