According to a notification issued by the department on February 1, medical colleges in the Hyderabad-Karnataka region will have to reserve 70 per cent of the seats for students from the region. This includes colleges in Bidar, Gulbarga, Yadgir, Raichur, Koppal and Bellary districts. 

As per the list, the government medical and dental colleges that will have 70 per cent reservation for students from H-K region are: Bidar Institute of Medical Sciences, Bidar; ESI Medical College and PGIMSR, Gulbarga; Government Dental College, Bellary; Raichur Institute of Medical Sciences, Raichur; and Vijayanagar Institute of Medical Sciences, Bellary. All these colleges have 100 seats each for MBBS as sanctioned by the Medical Council of India, except in Vijayanagar Institute which has 150 seats. The Government Dental College, Bellary, has 50 seats for BDS.
