if you want to get a seat in nit then you have to score above 75% in the 12th board exam and in jee mains paper you have to score above 200 it may be any caste if you have reservation then there is a chances of getting seat easily by those marks

and to get a seat in iit you should have 95+ percentile so that you are eligible for iit not only that you should have to write jee advance and depending upon your reservations your cutoff marks will be provided

If you want to have NIT then for to be at the safer side you need to score 95 + percentile so that you could have a good NIT but if you want to have admission in IIT so I am informing you that JEE mains is not enough for taking admission in IIT for that you will have to give JEE advance exam but for giving JEE advanced exam firstly you need to have a cutoff marks in JEE mains exam so that you could sit for JEE advanced exam then for IIT your JEE advanced marks will be considered.
