Hy,

In 2024, the National Medical Commission (NMC) approved the establishment of 113 new medical colleges across India. This initiative aims to increase the number of healthcare professionals in the country, addressing the growing demand for doctors. Among the states, Uttar Pradesh will get the highest number of new medical colleges with 22 , followed by Maharashtra with 14 , and Rajasthan with 12 . Other states like Telangana, West Bengal, Madhya Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh, and Karnataka will also see several new medical colleges.

This expansion is part of an effort to increase the number of MBBS seats and improve healthcare access in various regions. If you're planning to apply to medical colleges in 2024, this increase will likely boost your chances of admission into government and private institutions.
