Candidates appearing for JEE Main must have passed class 12th with Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics in order to apply. However For admission to IITs, NITs, IIITs & CFTIs candidates must have secured at least 75% in their class 12th board exams (65% for SC/ST students ).

their is no criteria for marks required in class 12th to appeared in jee main but for getting admission into nits and iits of india their is minimum criteria of marks required in class 12th boards which is minimum of 75% in class 12th for general category and 65% for sc &st category

It is the minimum marks which you will have to get in the boards if you have to be eligible for the JEE Main counselling which is 75 percentage in the physics Chemistry and mathematics in the boards.Generally People tend to come to either Telangana state or the Andhra Pradesh to study 11th and 12 because scoring 75 percentage here is very easy.Hope you understood what I meant.Thank you.

There is no restriction on how much you have scored to appear in jee mains but for the admission in iits ,nits, through jee mains you have to score minimum 75% in class 12th or you have to be in top 20 percentile of your respective board.
