Around 11.99 lakhs student apply for JEE exam.

Central Board of Secondary Education CBSE), which is the exam conducting authority for JEE Main, has registered a dip of nearly 1% in registrations as compared to the previous year. This is the 3rd year in a row that JEE Main applications have shown a dip. As per CBSE officials, as many as 11,98,989 students have registered for the national level engineering entrance examination this year. Out of the 11,98,989 registered candidates, 8,62,526 are male candidates, while 3,36,460 are female and 3 are transgenders. This means that around 72% male candidates will be sitting for JEE Main 2017, while the female test takers will be over 27%.
