Lakhs of students register for JEE Mains exam every year, though this figure is decreasing year by year as more and more students are opting for other dreams and pursuing their careers in arts and commerce rather than just science. According to National Testing Agency (NTA), which is the main body responsible for conducting JEE Mains and was established in 2019, approximately 18 lakh students had registered for JEE Mains paper 1 during the January and April exams in 2019. Out of these, over 11 lakh candidates had appeared in JEE Main (January and April) exams.
Also, as per the report released by NTA, over 11 lakh candidates had registered for JEE Mains January Session 2020.
