In three consecutive years, a candidate may sit for the JEE Main exam six times. A candidate may register for JEE Main twice a year, in January and April. The applicant may participate in JEE Main in 2020 and 2021 if the candidate passes the 12th grade test in 2019. The applicant may participate in both JEE Main sessions in the years 2020, 2021, and 2022 if the class 12th board exam is being taken in 2020.
Candidates must have been born on or before October 1, 1997, to be eligible. The waiting period for applicants from the reserved category is shortened by five years. Candidate birthdates must be on or after October 1, 1992.
