In JOSAA counselling the candidates are given three options - float, slide and freeze, based on their preference the candidates can choose any of the three options.

Now to answer your query, the candidates can use the float option until the last round. In the last round it will be frozen automatically. The candidates can use the float option and it will be on float until he/she goes for the freeze.
