How many years it take to become cardiologist(m.s)

Hello!

To become a cardiologist, candidate must have passed 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry and Biology. On completion of +2, student have to appear in competitive exams like NEET, AIIMS, JIPMER to get admission into a Medical College for MBBS. This is 5 and a half year course which includes 1 year of internship period as well.

After that, one has to go for MD/MS which is of 2 to 3 years of duration. Then one has to go for specialisation in the field, i.e. DM in Cardiology. For surgical intervention one has to get a MCh in Cardiology. DM and MCh are of 3 years duration. Therefore, to become a cardiologist will take maximum of 11.5 years, if everything goes in place and as soon as possible.
