The concept of donation has no legal foothold but it is still prevalent especially in kindergarten admission. There is no correct answer or perhaps any answer for "How much donation" depending on the level of admission this loot price will vary and if possible avoid school which practice such acts.
Also remember that, The Right to Education Act prohibits both — the practice of schools accepting donations as well as interviewing children during admissions.
