See if you wish to prepare for government and invest more times on it then I would recommend you not to take any hons/major courses. Its better you should go for general/pass courses. For government jobs the eligibility criteria is that the candidate must be a graduate. So there are no such criterions of Hons or else. Thus I would say go for BSc general course and you will get enough time to prepare for government job exams as BSc general is relatively easier than that of other course.
