There is no fixed salary figure which can be assured for any mechanical engineer.

The salaries differ according to the company, profile, benefits, etc.

Top colleges provide good opportunities for placements. So here the working profiles are also relevant to what is expected by the students. Contrary to this, an average college can hardly get you such opportunities and profiles. If an alumnus of an avg college is working at a good firm, then the college looks after the tie-ups with that firm for placements and in such cases, you can expect to get good salary packages from such firms, provided you have the skills required by them.

In short, the salary packages can range from as low as 2LPA to as high as 10 LPA depending upon the above mentioned factors.
