For getting NITs through JEE main you need to clear the cut-off of respective NITs for respective branch, that is the branch you want to pursue.

You may use the college predictor for JEE

In general, having a JEE main score above 250, will fetch you any branch in any NIT.

To be able to get seat in NITs you must work very hard. As there is a lot of competition and limited seats in NITs and IITs. It will be beneficial if you aim to score 230+ or even 250 marks. Just scoring the cut off marks won't help you. If you score above 230 marks in JEE main the you will have high chances of getting a seat in branch and NIT of your choice.
