Indian Engineering Service or IES  is one of the most prestigious services.It is one of the posts in UPSC.You need to get through ESE that is Engineering Services Examination.It is conducted to recruit officers for engineering services who would work on the progress of Infranstructural Projects initiated by government.

First off,you need to have a positive approach for ESE is one of the toughest exams of our country and it requires your dedication.

First get yourself acquainted with the pattern of the syllabus.If you are in final year of Engineering then start revising your syllabus.

It must be kept in mind that ESE can be written only in four streams that are Electronics,Electrical,Mechanical or civil services.

If your concepts are not clear then you may enroll yourself in coaching institutes. Keep working hard on yourself and study thoroughly.For General studies you may join coaching institute

Since in Prelims generally basics are asked so you need not bother about advance level questions but you may solve them as well for it will only help you.Practise previous years papers and participate in mock tests and self-preparation does help the most.
Just remember a thing you would be judged on the basis of the questions you will solve in a specified period of time and not  on the basis of how much you have studied,though studying more always helps.So prepare smartly.

Firstly go through once or twice the whole syllabus for the IES exam.

Then if you're in graduation relate the syllabus with your semester syllabus. Then afterward the graduation better to join coaching centre to know the syllabus topics and concepts very clearly.

Allot morning, afternoon and evening 3 slots and 3and half hours for each slot.Then go for previous years question papers to analyse the the questions and time management.

But here you should start reading the syllabus with more concentrated and here dedication take place a crucial role.
Nextly go for mock test series this will increase the ability to do answers without any confusion.write short note for every subject this will helps you at the time of revision.
