firstly u need to anlayse yourself to know your strenths and weakness ,one can come to knw abt themselves through various sutuations you faced in life, Its very imp that one must know what they are good at and what they cant handle or is there weakness to overcome them

SO when attending an interview  make a list of strengths you have and weaknesses you have and Use your strengths to overcome a weakness must also be put into practise

for example if you hv qualities like confidence , patience but in certain sutuation your weakness is anger ,,then we must try to over come anger by doing exercises ,yoga or some sort of things which helps in overcoming it

basically i feel that knowing once strength/weakness is not only imp for ones interview but also for a healthy daily life .

most of them just copy strength ,weakness from internet and present it for themselves but thats not correct ,,

if you cant analyse ,you can see a list of things an see if you possess that strenght truely or not and then present it ,and always say weakness in a form that you are trying to overcome it in certain way,

When the interviewer asks you about your strengths and weaknesses, it is best to be honest and open about yourself. Maybe you are good at communications, networking  research or writing. The best way to prepare for this question beforehand is to assess yourself and identify what are the tasks that you can easily do and in which tasks you face difficulties. Steps required to successfully answer this question:

• Build your answer in a way that you are being honest and thoughtful when answering this question by highlighting how self-aware you are about yourself and give the hiring managers an insight on your professionalism.
• Prepare for this question before hand. This will give you time to answer this question without obsessively thinking over this during your interview. Self insight is a trait about which we do not usually ponder about and thus when asked questions related to this, we usually tend to hesitate. So, preparing for this question before hand will give you a candid yet descriptive answer portraying your confidence to the hiring managers.
• While answering the question about your weaknesses always try giving examples of when you have noticed this in your life and how it has emerged in your professional life. This will help the hiring managers know about how self aware you are and how open you are to growth in your professional life.
• Be truthful about your weaknesses are. Answer this question about weaknesses as something which shows the hiring manager your readiness to not just accept weaknesses but also improve upon them. For example if you say that you are afraid of crowds give an instance of when this happened and how you overcame it. Take it for me, I have stage fright so when I was asked this question I gave them the instance of a debate competition I had attended and how eye contact with comfortable people in the audience i.e my friends and teachers helped me overcome my fear. 
• When it comes to strengths, try showing your confidence without letting humility leak from it. Try answering this question with keeping the job description in mind and the skill set which will be required to fulfill your role. For example if you are a student giving a college interview, your strengths might be your passion to read, your curiosity about things happening around, your readiness to positively face criticism, your dedication to your course and institution etc., similarly for the position of a manager your strengths will be your leadership and team engaging capabilities, your patience, time management abilities, ability to perform under pressure etc. 
• Be very specific when answering this question. Try not going in circles and repeating and rerepeating points you have already stated.
• Through you weaknesses prove to them how you overcame the challenges life threw at you and through strengths try answering how ready you are for the position you are applying to. 
• You need to avoid bragging about your strengths, and going to deep into your weaknesses. Avoid rambling and giving examples which might make the hiring manager rethink his decision, for example in a college interview if you give example from the parties you have attended or fights you have witnessed then this will not leave a good mark in the eyes of the interviewer. Do not make claims which you can not support with examples and situations for example if you state I am a perfectionist explain to the interviewer why do you call yourself so.
