to apply for the post of english professor firstly you need to complete your masters degree in english with atleast 55% (50 % for obc,sc,st etc )give NET (national eligiblity test) organised by UGC (university grant commision) however most of the institute now requires professors to complete Mphil,PHD etc Lectureship and Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) awards are also offered on the basis of a candidate’s performance in this exam.so once the vecancy or notification is out from your college you can apply for the post.
