There are a lot of opportunities for you as civil engineering does provide jobs in the Government sector and private as well. So there are many competitive exams which are held almost every year you can apply for getting a Gov. Job.

  • GATE: Through GATE exam you can enter various Public sector undertakings like IOCL,NHPC,NTPC,etc
  • IES: Through this you can get the administrative jobs in civil engineering field such as SE,AE.
  • SSC: Through this you can get jobs in the CPWD, Water Irrigation Department and all the central jobs available in your field in india
  • UPSC: For administrative jobs & you can become Class A gazetted officer in central government.

Apart from this there are many exams like Railway Board exams,Staff Selection exams etc.

Good Luck!

You can give Gate,  IES , SSC JE, RRB JE and SE exams in order to get a Govt job as a Civil Engineer and there are some PSUs also which conduct their own exam BARC, NHAI etc so you can try for these exams as well.

Hope this helps!!!
