Hi, To become a music director the most important factor is being in the field. You must start with assisting a good music director and doing some small things in composing music. Ads, short films, documentries etc. You must have good contacts in the industry. You must have a good taste in all kind of music. In becoming a music director, the situation may demand anything. There is a lot of technology being used in composing music. Studio design, Recording, Microphones, Editing & Mixing softwares etc.. You must be able to use them efficiently. Initially you might have to work/struggle a lot. Some times work for free!! But then you should build your portflio and make contacts in the industry.
