To become a CID officer, you can first join police department. Depending on your qualification and by giving exams you can opt for CID officer post.

Also, you can appear for Civil Services exam. Civil Services examination is conducted by UPSC. Exam is conducted in two stages and then interview.  Salary package can vary depeding upon the post.
