Hello Annie,

It takes more than strength and muscles to become a good bodybuilder. There are several steps that one should keep in mind in order to become a good and popular bodybuilder.

If you want to become a competitive bodybuilder, it's imperative that you find a good gym in your area where you can train with professionals.

Planning what you want to get out of bodybuilding, how you want to shape your body, is a huge part of the process of bodybuilding. Familiarise yourself with the biology of muscles.

Consider consulting a personal trainer for guidance, at least when you're first starting out. It's very probable that you'll train wrong if you train without guidance. This can result not only in injury, but a huge waste of time and effort.

It's a good idea to meet with a nutritionist or other health counselor at least once to build a diet plan specifically tailored to your body and what you want to do with it.

The exercises that you perform will depend on the goals for your body and your stage in the training process. It's generally suggested, that you stick to the same major compound movements that most bodybuilders use. You should target particular muscle groups on particular days.

It's absolutely important to incorporate recovery time into your workouts as well. You need to have at least two days every week, during which you don't train at all.

Protein supplements such as whey powders are common among bodybuilders and they benefit a wide variety of lifters, especially if you struggle to get your daily amount of protein.

You also have to stay extremely well hydrated to get in shape. During workouts, you need to be drinking at least 10 ounces of water for every 10-20 minutes that you workout.

Open regional bodybuilding contests are the way to crack into the world of competing. Everyone starts at the local level and gradually builds their way up to the national level. If you're in good shape and want to get some competitive experience, try competing and see if you've got what it takes to move on to the next level of competition, and maybe even go pro.

Hope this helps you. We wish you the best for your future endeavours!

Regards
