Minimum eligibility required is that you need to have graduation and should fall in the age bracket of 21-27 years. SC/ST are given relaxation of 10 years whereas OBC are given relaxation of 3 years. Minimum physical fitness criteria should also be met which are as follows:

Male Candidates:

• Physical Standards: Height - 157.5 cms and Chest - 81 cms
• Physical Test: Walking: 1600 metres in 15 minutes and Cycling: cycle 8 Kms in 30 minutes.

Female Candidates:

• Physical standards (Minimum): Height - 152 cms and Weight - 48 Kgs.
• Physical Test: Walking: 1 Km. in 20 minutes and Cycling: cycle 3 Kms. in 25 minutes

SSC(Staff Selection Committee) conducts CGL exam (Common Graduate Level) every year in two phases followed by an interview which is followed by a physical fitness test.

SSC CGL is divided into four phases.

• Tier -I: Online Examination (Objective Multiple Choice Type) on topics like general intelligence and general awareness and arithmetic and will have 100 questions. Each question will have equal weightage of 1 marks and duration is of 2 hours.
• Tier -II: Online Examination (Objective Multiple Choice Type). People who pass above exam are eligible to apper for this phase. In this phase 4 papers are conducted and questions are subjected to topics like General Studies, English, Arithmetic, Language, Communication skill and writing.
• Tier -III: Descriptive Paper in English/Hindi (writing of Essay/Precis/Letter /Application Writing)
• Tier -IV: Computer Proficiency Test/ Skill Test (wherever applicable)/ Document Verification
