If you are really interested in research  it is better to know that it's a long journey. After completing your schooling in the subject of your interest you are required to complete your ug and pg.

It is good to go for a Doctorate d programme as it will give you deeper insight and knowledge of your subject. After that you'll have to apply for various exams held by bodies like CSIR in order to work there as a scientist.
