Dear Aspirant,

Teaching is a great career option. There are 3 major steps to become a Teacher and the three major steps are listed below:

  1. Choose A Speciality
  2. Fulfill The Education Requirements
  3. Get Certified

Since you mentioned that you want to become sst teacher for primary children, so you have completed the first step. Coming to the educational requirements, to teach primary students, you need a diploma degree that is D.Ted.

The course duration of Diploma (D.Ted.) is generally two years. And to study D.Ted. degree, candidates must have passed the 12th standard (graduated from senior secondary school) with the minimum qualification.

Besides having a degree, you need to also ensure that you must have a good academic record.

Also, note that if you want to teach in a government-owned school then you must clear the Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) exam.  Also, the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) gives preparatory curriculums for the exam and determines the minimum eligibility requirements each year.

Happy Learning!
