Hi,
In CMAT 2019, 54516 students appeared for the exam. Navanshu Surendra Sharma obtained 100 percentile with a total score of 372. Five candidates scored 99.99 percentile.
Percentile is calculated on the basis of rank of the student vs number of students who appeared in the exam. The formula to calculate CMAT percentile, prescribed by NTA is:
Percentile P = 100 x Number of candidates appeared in the examination with raw marks equal to or less than the candidate/Total number of candidates appeared
For example, out of the 54516 candidates who appeared for the CMAT exam this year, if a candidate has got rank no.3, her CMAT percentile score will be: 54,516 – 3(rank) / 54516 x 100 = 99.9945 (which can be rounded-off).
Hope this helps.
Cheers!
Hello Semma Phatate,
The percentile for management entrance tests such as CMAT is based on the idea of what percent of students scored below you. For example, if your percentile is 98.2%, it means that 98.2% of the students have scored below you.
The process is usually normalization. For more additional information you can click on this link to get :-
