hello,
percentile calculation depends on how many number of students has appeared the exam in the current year. Your score will be used and it will say where you stand in this competitive population.
For eg:- let 100 candidates have given the exam and you have score around 280 from 360. then there are many candidates who score from -ve marking to 270 and many candidates who have score above 281-360. lets take there are 30 students above you that means there are 69 students below you which makes your percentile 70.
if there are 5 candidates above you than your percentile is 95 and thee are 94 candidates who have scored below you and 5 candidates who have scored above you.

in reality it not 100 in number, it is above 10 lakhs candidates so your percentile will get affected accordingly. so try to score as best as you can. the higher you score there are many chances to get less people above you.
Hope it helps!
