Hello,

When acetylene is heated in red-hot iron tube at 873 K, benzene is obtained. Ethyne could be directly converted into benzene in the presence of red-hot Cu or Fe. One bond breaks from each molecule to, connect to the adjacent one in a circular form like this benzene is obtained directly.
