Ssc cgl exam is held in four phases.

The phase first being the objective paper. You have four sections in this paper which are English , general knowledge , quant and logical reasoning . As the paper has negative marking also , the answer should be given a thought before attempting. I would suggest you to make your exam doing strategy so as to clear the paper. In exams having negative marking such as CLAT, SSC CGL , SSC CHSL etc. , what you have to do is to first look for the doable questions, the one's which you are confident about being correct. And set a time limit for each section as time management is the key to success in competitive examinations.

Giving mocks is the best way to boost your practice. If yiu want to crack it in your first attempt , kindly practice the mocks and make a good strategy of studying as well as attempting the question paper .

Your aim should be to crack the exam and becoming a scholar. What I mean to say is , study the things which are relevant from the exam point of view and don't waste your time on unnecessary things. Focus on reading newspaper ( only the news which are important for you) , is must .

Regarding your preparation startegy i would say that don't switch the subjects too often, if you are studying polity do it till you complete a good amount of it so that you will be able to remember what you read.

Start making a note of some good English words as a good vocabulary will help you in tier 1 as well as tier 2.
