it is the combination of mechanical,electronics,chemical and optical,electrical.weapon engineering is the branch under engineering stream,which deals with the weapon's development,research,collection and maintanence(repair).to be a weapon engineer,you need experience with the collection of weapons and their collections,structure ,design and vehicle which are mainly designed and developed only for warfare.the demand and use of weapon is remains same,but the development has extended beyond it's limits.so the weapon engineer should concern with the life cycle and management of weapons.

you can't pursue this career from under graduate but you can do this as PG course.so you need to take any given courses like electronics or mechanical,then you can do Post graducation in armament engineering/combat vehicles engineering/guided missiles engineering/guidance and control engineering.
