Sound Engineering is a specialised branch of engineering that deals with the sound balancing, recording, adjusting, mixing and editing. Students enrolled in the Sound Engineering course receive theoretical and practical knowledge based on the technicality of sound.

Eligibility Criteria for UG Course
Candidates who want to pursue a Diploma or B.Tech in Sound Engineering are required to successfully complete 10+2 inPhysics,ChemistryandMathematicswith a minimum of 50 percent of marks.

Eligibility Criteria for PG Courses
Aspirants who want to enroll in M.Sc.in Sound Engineering are required to complete B.Sc. in Sound Engineering with a minimum of 50 per cent in a relevant discipline. Candidates who want to enroll in M.Tech. in Sound Engineering are required to successfully complete B.E. or equivalent from a recognised board.


Career in Sound Engineering

1. Sound Engineer: A Sound Engineer is a professional responsible for setting up and maintaining audio equipment. He or she is the one who enhances audio with appropriate sound effects and fixes any other sound issues. Sound Engineer may often be required to work with producers, singers and musicians.

2. Audio Engineer: An Audio Engineer's work includes recording, synchronising, mixing or reproducing sound using machinery or equipment. He or she stays involved in movie production, sound production, music recordings, live shows or video games. An Audio Engineer is also known as a Sound Engineering technician or Audio Equipment technician.

3.. Sound Recordist: A Sound Recordist is a professional who is responsible for fitting personal mics, monitoring sound output as well as on-screen talent and contributors. He or she is required to collaborate with production and crew members, camera operators and directions.

4. Mixing Engineer: The role of Mixing Engineer includes recording, mixing, and editing. He or she is responsible for adjusting the audio volume levels, adding sound effects and manipulating the audio frequency. He or she synchronises sound and performs troubleshooting and repairs whenever required.
