Hello,

You can join the Merchant Navy but only in Deck Department or Ratings. To do so, since your undergraduate degree is of Computer science stream, you will have to join the DNS (Diploma in Nautical Science) as a 12th class passed candidate if you are within the specified age limit. The course is for 1 year and after that you will have to sail for 18 months to be eligible for competency exams held by MMD (Govt of India) to become 3rd Officer.
