To become a RAW agent, the candidate has to take the 'Group A' Civil Services exam and  have to clear all the stages of the Civil Service exam and then later the qualified candidates are  to write the RAW test.

They do not directly recruit people but select them from other government departments in India  Armed forces, Intelligence Agencies, Police Services, Administrative Services etc,
