you can tell them you were preparing for mba exam as it is your dream institution to study mba and if you have done any courses while the time of preparing do mention them. if you learn some new things or technologies do mention it. before interview make yourself calm and dont panic to answer and keep a smile on your face while you are anwering. hope it helps.

First, the reason for your gap year must be because of the preparation time you needed to prepare for you MBA Entrance exams.

This can be justified by answering that you wanted to give your best shot at the entrance exam and that is the reason you took off. Also, only because of that decision, you could qualify for the interview that you are sitting in now.

If the gap year was due to some illness, quote the reason honestly and tell how you utilised the time to prepare yourself for the future i.e taking up MBA Entrance exams.
