Hello

These exams ask different type of GK,
Lets clarify exam by exam:
1) SNAP GK
GK in SNAP Exam has 20% weightage, 30 Questions Out of 150 total questions in SNAP 2016, there will be 30 questions on GK. SNAP 2016 has clearly provided the framework of your GK study by limiting it to last 2 years of current affairs. So, You need to study current affairs of last 2 years for SNAP. And these are the areas you have to emphasis upon:-
Key areas:-
1. Business affairs like mergers and acquisitions, New products, brand ambassadors during last 2 years
2) National affairs including social, sports, films, awards, appointments, science etc
3) International affairs including personalities in news, appointments, major events and agreements, sports etc)
4) Economy and finance based current affairs like various schemes, budget, survey etc

2) TISS GK
GK in TISSNET Exam plays a very crucial role, as Around 40% weightage is given to GK in TISSNET.
GK Section is highly scoring section and It takes very less time too, so we can say this section is deciding one for students.
The overall level of paper is easy to moderate with no negative marking, so If You score 30+ in GK , You would easily get the call from TISSNET.
Important areas for TISS GK:-
1) Last 1 year current affairs on social issues, deaths, cases, economic affairs, national and international major affairs
2) Art and culture: Traditional dances, famous artists and their fields, Customs etc
3) Sports personalities and their sports
4) Recent Awards and honours
5) Prize winning Books and authors
6) Government schemes
7) Basic economy: RBI, GDP sector wise, Budget highlights, revolutions in agriculture sector, high crop producing states etc
8) General science (Around 10 important topics)
9) Committees formed by RBI and Government
10) Socio-economic affairs (Last 1 year)
11) History: Timeline of Indian freedom struggle, Nick names of freedom fighters, books written by them, Major achievements in social and economical front after independence, Major ancient history related to art and culture
12) Current affairs based Polity and geography
13) Labour law, Trade unions, NGOs in news
14) World organizations: Economic organizations, UN organizations, human right organizations, terrorist organizations etc which were in news.
15) Important bills passed by Indian government like GST, Maternity bill, RERA etc ( recent bills and acts)

3) IIFT GK
GK in IIFT is a mixed bag: both static and current, In 2016, Questions were from both current affairs and static gk as per our expectations.
