The syllabus is almost the same as CAT for the quantity and logical and English part. There are a few differences and that is mainly in the pattern of the question paper. But the trick for preparing is the same. Give as many mock tests as you can. The pattern as I said is very much different from CAT and you need to familiar with that pattern. So, give as many mock tests for XAT specially as you can. It will make you understand where you need to work upon and what type of questions to expect.

Moreover there is a general knowledge section also there in XAT. For that you need to follow up on the news regularly. Get some yearly general knowledge magazine and go through it. There is some material available on the net as well which lists news items month wise. Search for that on the internet and keep them handy. Also you can install a news app on your cell phone like economic times or business insider or mint so that you get notifications and be updated about what is happening in the world.
