For gate if you wanted to join coaching than go for that. After that you have to plan your schedule of study time. Do your revision from last 5 years papers, this will help you a lot.

Now, as far as preparation goes you should refer to last 5 years papers and see what kind of questions come 

the syllabus should be clear in your mind to know what all you  have to cover and the stipulated number of days you require for the same.

Also you should divide your syllabus and use the right reference books to go ahead with the process
